On June 16, 2021, Kosibah by Yemi Osunkoya and InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel revealed the first ever bridal suite at the property.

At the start of the pandemic, Kosibah shot their collection in the hotel’s Harold S. Vanderbilt Penthouse Suite overlooking the beautiful New York skyline to present to the virtual audiences at New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week. The suite’s picturesque views of the skyline and Chrysler Building made for a dream wedding venue in the heart of New York City.

This season, Kosibah added a few more pieces to the already capsule collection, Asheyore Eji, as he navigates his way into the made-to-order, and ready-to-wear market coming from the bespoke and couture market which is completely different for the brand that was built and is renown in the English market back in London and Nigeria for the past 29 years.

The Kosibah Suite at the InterContinental New York Barclay is located on the fourth floor of the stunning hotel, Suite 465, and operates by appointment only. When a bride, or any client enters into the space they are in for an intimate experience with Yemi the designer or with a trained sales representative that will walk them through the process of selecting their dress for their special occasion. The brand alignment was so important for Yemi because as he approaches his 30th anniversary in business in September of 2021, it was important to him that each of his clients felt the growth of the brand but still experiences an intimate moment

with him as they have been accustomed to back in his Atelier in London. Occupying a suite in the hotel will allow his international brides to visit New York, experience the city in style and still be safe with a private experience. Upon arrival, visitors to the Kosibah Suite will have access to the hotel’s bar and then later this summer they will be invited to dine and drink at The Parlour, the hotel’s restaurant that pays homage to the hotels 1920’s origin with food and beverage crafted to showcase the hotel’s history and character.

So as we celebrate the re-opening of New York City, we invite you to come see the union of two iconic brands as they help countless couples plan one of the most important occasions of their lives...their wedding day, while supporting local businesses through partnerships.
