Marchesa Special Night at Valmont Barcelona Bridal Week
The Palau de Pedralbes was the setting for one of the highlights of the Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. The designer duo behind Marchesa, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, exclusively presented their new bridal collection
The show set out a total of 32 looks, nine of which were eveningwear, in an amazing garden created by the landscape artist Fran Cisneros, in the exterior of the Palau de Pedralbes. Centenary trees with hanging rock crystal chandeliers created an ethereal setting through which the models walked up to a stunning golden pergola. The spectacle of nature mixed with fashion created a truly unique experience.
The 2020 Marchesa collection, inspired by the poem Pathways of Rainer Maria Rilke, is a synthesis of light and romance. The characteristic shapes of the firm and the voluminous dresses were embellished with micro pearls and 3D organza flowers, delicate strands and wavy textures that were reminiscent of the moonlight which shone. Beautifully individual pieces flow throughout the whole collection, notably a stunning organza coat with a texture enriched with 3D pearls and petals. Other pieces included an iridescent veil with a pearl-dotted hood and edged veils with elaborate embroidery and ethereal ivory, golden and silver tones.
Designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig said: “We are incredibly honored and thrilled to be showing in Barcelona for the first time. This is such a magical an inspiring city and we couldn’t be happier to unveil our new spring 2020 bridal collection in front of the whole industry.”
