COUNTDOWN TO THE COLLECTIONS: ENAURA'S SOHIL MISTRY

Creative Director Sohil Mistry

Can you share your inspiration or influences you will be working on for the upcoming April market?

This collection is called "Unwoven". I was inspired by the story of Penelope’s weaving in The Odyssey written by Homer—how she wove by day and unraveled her work by night. This went on for 3 years as she waited for her love, Odysseus to return. There’s something so beautiful about that act, about the balance between creating and letting go. It made me think about the nature of craftsmanship, how every thread we weave carries meaning, yet there’s also power in what we choose to edit or undo.

With “Unwoven”, I want to bring that idea to life in a way that feels both intentional and effortless. The textures, embroidery, and fabric manipulations in this collection mimic the rhythm of a loom—layers that interlace, unravel, and flow with movement. I love the idea of structure dissolving into softness, of a dress feeling like it’s woven from memory and emotion rather than just fabric.

What will you be offering new for market (fabrics, silhouettes)?

I’ve been exploring ways to create texture and dimension in a way that feels both intricate and effortless—using embroidery that mimics the movement of woven threads, draping that feels organic yet intentional, and silhouettes that play with structure dissolving into softness.

I’m also focusing on versatility and wearability. Brides today want gowns that feel personal and fluid, so I’m incorporating thoughtful design elements that allow for subtle transformations—whether through layering, removable details, or unexpected textures.

Describe who your bride is and what they to wear today.

My bride is someone who values artistry and intention. She’s not just looking for a wedding dress—she’s searching for something that resonates with her, something that feels deeply personal. She appreciates craftsmanship, the beauty of handwork, and the meaning behind the details. She’s drawn to designs that feel both timeless and unique, where every stitch has a purpose.

Today, brides are moving away from anything overly traditional or expected. They want gowns that reflect their individuality—soft, fluid silhouettes with intricate textures, thoughtful embellishments, and a sense of effortless elegance. They’re embracing versatility, subtle drama, and pieces that feel as special as the moment they’re wearing them in. My bride isn’t afraid to wear something that feels different, as long as it feels true to her.”
