1) From your perspective, what makes New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week a key place for discovering designers and the latest trends in bridal fashion?

The combination of designers available to meet with is unmatched at any other bridal market in the world. While there are various buying events in the US and abroad that do an excellent job producing their events, there is nowhere else that affords retailers the opportunity to meet with such a vast list of designers packed into 3 days than New York Bridal Fashion Week. No matter the price point, aesthetic, or country of origin, retailers are able to see and touch gowns that otherwise would only be purchased via images. For new designers looking to grow their stockist, NYLBFW makes connecting with potential buyers possible at whatever comfort level the designer choses. Whether that is showcasing at one of the multi-vendor shows or setting up in a hotel or showroom, each designer can decide what works best for them while knowing that the world's buyers are all within blocks.

As a buyer, seeing all our designers in New York allows us to take advantage of the latest trends while being able to compare them in real time. By seeing the collections back-to-back for three days, we can have fresh eyes as we decide which designer's version of this season's trends are what we want to bring home to our brides. It is always so interesting to see how different interpretations of the same element can be found across collections, which gives brides the options they crave.

2) What collections or designers stood out to you the most at this year's New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week, and what specific elements caught your attention?

This season we were captivated by Tom Sebastien! Their collection was the perfect mix between regal elegance and a fashion-forward twist which is exactly what our brides are seeking. Each dress brought understated drama in a different way, all without being overtly loud. This collection allows brides to feel timeless yet with the added edge that will differentiate them from the pack.

We also were thrilled with the new collection from Sareh Nouri which was incredibly strong! We have been with Sareh since the beginning of her line, and it has been such a pleasure to see her grow and expand to cover so many different elements of her signature aesthetic. This season was full of future best sellers, and we were lucky enough to have them in store along with Sareh for a trunk show already and she knocked it out of the park!

3) How do you think the New York market influences the global bridal fashion industry, and what trends did you notice this season that you believe will resonate with brides in the coming year?

With the majority of the bridal world attending New York market, we are all bringing those trends back to our markets which influences what bride's buy for the coming year. We headed into NYBlFW this season with the plan to move on from the Basque waist movement since it was such a hit last season, but wow were we wrong. Basque waist is clearly here to stay for the foreseeable future and the variety of them offered by designers was exciting to see. We loved the added pop of corset backs that were heavily in rotation this season as well. Our bride's are still loving the lighter tones which was carried through from last season by the designers, but many of them were leaning into more unique laces which make up for that loss of dimension that the dark linings used to accomplish.

While those three trends stood out, this season seemed to have more variety in general across designers. It was refreshing to not be selecting from a sea of clean square neck gowns, and rather have new and unique designs that might not have a similar counterpart in another designer's collection. Brides are consistently asking for "timeless with an edge" and we think that is exactly what most designers delivered at October market!

1) From your perspective, what makes New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week a key place for discovering designers and the latest trends in bridal fashion?

The core keyword is 'diversity’!  The U.S. is both the biggest market and the most diverse market.  Due to the variety of races and tastes, and the variety of wedding venues (churches or cathedrals, farmers' gardens, social clubs, luxury hotels, and outback resorts...), a mixture of various bridal looks is possible.  They are open minded an accept any styles. Because of this environment, it does not stay in just one stereotype.  Therefore, there are always changes and developments in style.

2) What collections or designers stood out to you the most at this year's New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week, and what specific elements caught your attention?

I Wanted to buy all of KYHA Studio's runway looks!  I fell in love with her sophisticated and remarkable collection.  I would like to dress up my client with the looks she suggested for the various occasions of the wedding events.  These days, I'm into the styling of not wearing bridal veils and using scarves instead.

3) How do you think the New York market influences the global bridal fashion industry, and what trends did you notice this season that you believe will resonate with brides in the coming year?

Among the two most powerful trends, the Corset Bodice and Basque Waist will be in the spotlight.  If it makes their waist size look smaller and sleek, which brides-to-be would not refuse to do this.

1) From your perspective, what makes New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week a key place for discovering designers and the latest trends in bridal fashion?

The industry has grown so much over the last decade and there is so much new talent! NYC has the largest gathering of couture bridal designers in the country which enables buyers to meet new designers and view their work in person.

2) What collections or designers stood out to you the most at this year's New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week, and what specific elements caught your attention?

Collections that spoke to me this season were Saiid Kobeisy and Marco & Maria— seasoned designers but new to the U.S., and Idan Cohen a new designer. There was a freshness in the use of unique fabrics and modern design this season. Clean and classic is always a trend but this year there were more basque waists, embroidery details, beading, unique scarves, bows and gloves.

3)How do you think the New York market influences the global bridal fashion industry, and what trends did you notice this season that you believe will resonate with brides in the coming year?

Buyers come to NYC from all over the world, so the fashion they are exposed to is transported around the globe. NYC is a premier destination for buyers who seek the finest in bridal fashion.

I believe the trend of basque waists will continue to be strong. Glove/sleeves were everywhere, removable trains and accessories that will give a bride more than one look will dominate the season. Lace of every type is another trend in both fitted and ballgowns.

Depending on the area of the country you are in clients tend to gravitate toward certain design elements. In the south classic, timeless trumpet and ball gowns that all ages appreciate are always in high demand. We also have many brides that travel or are professional women who have a strong sense of style. These clients are looking for unique pieces that show their personality.
