RUNWAY BRIDAL FALL 2021
This is not our typical bridal season, we pivoted from in person shows and appointments to virtual reality, a scary but exciting new way of working.
Themes to note: The Power of Love, Tranquility of Nature, Natural Elements, Garden of Eden, Beauty Strength, Reflection of History. Sophisticated Glamour, Modern and Clean as well are here to stay. Micro ceremonies and live streaming weddings are the new vernacular of the season.
Diversity and inclusivity are embraced like never before and yes, room for improvement. Sustainability is being addressed in the production chain.
The charity Vow to end child marriage has become an important world cause.
Most important for all of us in the industry- the bride going to get married, she is shopping, purchasing and wants to look as magical, beautiful and herself as ever no matter the number of guests.
Looks we saw: The sleeve: poetic blousy, removable, ruffled at the shoulder, draped falling off, portrait neckline and the return of the strong shoulder. The cape short and long in tulle or matching fabrics. Super High slits in ballgowns, sheaths and the under arm. Embroideries of nature’s designs: 3-d flowers and vines. Plenty of sparkle and high Victorian necklines. Big princess ball gowns to clean modern architectural shapes and shirt or tuxedo dress look. And of course, the statement bow, pleated tulle looks fresh, ballerina with corset tops, pants and shorts under removable skirts or paired with a bralette.
