Danielle Frankel Launches Jewelry Collection: Objet
The intent of Danielle Frankel’s first jewelry collection draws inspiration from the idea of objet d'art: uncommon and special collectible pieces that provoke our customer, but not through traditional ways. This particular jewelry capsule, a limited production offering within the Objet collection, draws its inspiration from the natural, raw, beautifully unique pearls themselves. Clients will receive one out of 100 produced of each design, marked and signed as an exclusive work of art.
Working with fine jewelry artisans, Danielle hand selected every pearl specific for its piece. Most of these required four to five iterations to understand the architecture of the design, while also ensuring practicality for the wearer, and the ability to create the pieces at scale. For example, in the two Oyster Pearl earrings, the gradation and placement need to be perfect in order for each earring to work in harmony.
The pearls were sourced from the most recent southeast Asian harvest, from which Danielle hand picked every strand used. She chose to pair the pearls with 14k rose gold and sterling silver, to complement the tones of each stone. For the Metal Pearl Drop earring, Danielle worked with an unusual metal-mesh that is pulled taught while the pearl is nested inside, inspired by Ruth Asawa's sculptures.
