10 Questions with Bridal Designer Inbal Dror
1) Describe the Inbal Dror style.
Inbal Dror style is characterized by its special attention to the bride’s figure, adorning and complimenting it with a high sensitivity to beauty. My style makes the bride to show up as a fashion icon.
I am inspired by my belief that the bride glows on her wedding day with a halo, making her the center of a spiritual event. She is a symbol of devotion and tradition. Her dress reflects the eternal feelings she emanates with shiny and magical look – It is a fashion icon. I want my brides to look heavenly on this most important day of her life. The style is very revealing and sexy creating an appealing look to the bride on her wedding day.
2) How did you get your start before you launched Inbal Dror?
I studied at the Shenkar institute in Tel Aviv, and then worked with leading designers in Italy, which helped form my personal style. Once I was satisfied with the direction I took, I decided to launch the Inbal Dror Design House.
3) What is the theme for the collection this season?
This season I am putting the bride at the center as an iconic figure. Creating the bride as a fashion icon is at the heart of this collection design.
4) What did you wear for your own wedding and why?
I wore a very simple dress that I made myself.
5) Did your own wedding inspire you to design wedding dresses?
I have separated my own wedding from the direction I took in my designs.
6) What celebrities have worn your gowns?
There are several international celebrities that wore Inbal Dror creations, such as Beyoncé, Juliana Rancic, Gabriela Wilde, Leona Lewis, Bar Raffaeli, Wanda Nera, Lara Unaska and more.
7)What is your favorite part of the couture process?
My favorite part is when an idea pops up in my mind. I immediately put it on paper and escort it to the point of a finished dress. I am super ecstatic when a bride is wearing the dress and bursts in tears of joy and excitement.
8) Are the dresses mostly bought for the ceremony or reception or both?
Most of our dresses are bought for the ceremony. Some of the brides buy more than one dress, so she can change the dress for the reception and dance.
9)Is there a particular style that keeps on selling and why?
There are several styles that keep on selling. Some of them from the early collections all the way to present time.
10) What other things do you like to do you when you are not working?
I like to spend time with my family, travel and relax.
