David Gomez Pearlberg March 19, 1965—July 18, 2024
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague David, who at the age of 59 quietly surrendered peacefully at home to his formidable battle with cancer. David’s final weeks were calm and filled with gratitude about the wonderful life he lived and the many people who helped make it so. David was surrounded and supported by his loved ones to the very end, in the beloved home he shared with his husband, Kelly in the Catskills.
"David was our Mira Zwillinger representative for the past 10 years and he became like family to us," remember Mira and Lihi Zwillinger. "He was a one of a kind human being -- wise, smart, gentle, elegant, and positive. A wise advisor and such a loyal man and dear friend. We are heartbroken and already miss him so much. We know he left this world relaxed and in peace so it gives some kind of comfort. He will forever and ever be a part of our heart."
"David was my dear friend and this is an immense loss for the entire bridal community," states Carine Krawiec. "He always loved with his whole heart and never expected anything in return. From our early years together, when he was at Junko Yoshioka, to the most recent bridal market with Mira Zwillinger, he was always a constant creative and guiding voice for our business. It’s not common that a work colleague becomes someone that your kids call Uncle. It was a privilege to have him stand beside me both in my professional and private life. He will be truly missed."
Mark Ingram said, “I am so deeply saddened by the passing of my friend David. For those of us who had the opportunity to work with him, we knew the love and passion he had for our industry. He was the consummate professional, an astute businessman and a pleasure to work with. On a personal level, David was a private person, and I a feel so lucky to have known him outside of work. He was a joy, a pleasure, a confidant and loyal friend who always had my back and best interest at heart. I will miss him terribly. It is a huge loss on so many levels. He fought a terrible battle with his illness. May he rest in peace eternally." Per David’s request, in lieu of a flowers and a memorial service, donations to his local animal adoption organization, Heart of the Catskills (Delhi, NY) would be welcomed in the names of David and Kelly’s beloved Bernedoodles: Monkey and Ponyboy.
As we honor David’s memory, we share his favorite words: STRIVE TO BE HAPPY❤️
