1.How perfect that you have partnered with Jared; what is the overall inspiration of One by Pnina Tornai?
It has always been a dream of mine to design an engagement jewelry collection, and I finally found the perfect partner in Jared. I chose to call this collection One because I believe that name carries the message this world needs right now—in a time when we are all facing the same challenge, no matter where we are, the only way we can overcome is by caring for each other, loving one another, and remembering that we are all One.
2. How does your signature gown design, or your style translate into the look of these engagement rings?
I paid a lot of attention to every little detail of my rings, the same way I do with my dresses, because I am a perfectionist. But what really links this jewelry collection to my philosophy of design is that I made sure to include a ring for every bride, the same way I always make sure to include a gown for every bride in my collections.
3. Describe the range of styles and for what kind of bride.
From the classic traditionalist who might choose an elegant haloed oval diamond style, to the bold, modern bride who might opt for a statement-making black diamond ring, there is a style in the collection for everyone to fall in love with.
4. Tell us about the 3 little diamonds on the band of each ring, what do they signify?
Each Pnina Tornai engagement ring and wedding band is accented with a rose gold signature cuff, my little love note to my brides to carry with them always. My signature is engraved inside the cuff, and the edge is accented with three small diamonds to represent the wearer, their beloved, and the beautiful life they build together, greater than the sum of its parts.
5. How many engagement rings are in the collection?
Right now there are 38 engagement rings and 4 wedding bands in the collection… but we are adding more all the time!
6. The all-black diamond ring is so unique, tell us about that.
Black is one of my favorite colors—I feel that there is something so empowering in the color black. It’s bold and different, and it was very important to me to include black diamond options in the collection. I’ve gotten so many amazing messages on Instagram from customers who love the black diamond rings.
7. What was your favorite part of collaborating with Jared?
The Jared team has been so wonderful, always embracing my vision and helping me turn it into reality. Because of Covid we actually created the entire collection over Zoom meetings and emails, and we’ve never even met in person! But it really feels like we have known each other for a long time.
8. Do you have a favorite ring from the collection?
That’s like asking a mother if she has a favorite child! They are all my babies and usually whichever one I am holding or wearing is my favorite. But I do really love “Deco Love,” my beautiful emerald cut ring inspired by art deco design. It is both timeless and modern, with lots of sparkle.
9. Any buying tips a couple needs to know before they purchase the engagement ring?
If the couple is shopping together, I think the one wearing the ring will know it’s the right one when they put it on for the first time, just like brides know when they find their gowns. If they’re a more traditional couple and the future groom is shopping for a ring without his love, I would advise him to pay attention to the color of jewelry his partner usually wears (white gold, yellow gold, rose gold), and maybe do some poking around on her Pinterest to see if she’s saved some pictures of styles she likes! But in the end he should go with what his heart tells him—he will feel which ring is the right one to express his love.
10. What are the price points?
The engagement rings retail between $1,499 and $19,999 and the wedding bands between $699 and $1,199, so there is a variety of different options for couples with different budgets!
