It is with deep regret and sadness that The Wedding Salon of Manhasset announces the passing of its co-founder and co-president, Susan Finale, late Tuesday evening, November 12th, with her family at her bedside. 

Susan, together with her partner, Nancy Aucone, founded The Wedding Salon of Manhasset in 1996.

Prior to that, Susan was the vice president and head of bridal at Kleinfeld for more than 20 years until the business was sold. She grew up and lived in Brooklyn and studied merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Susan began her career as a buyer of evening dresses at Lord & Taylor.

The greatest compliment paid to Susan came from her mentor and very close friend, Hedda Kleinfeld Schachter, ‘Miss Hedda,’ “Susan always had an extremely keen eye for fashion and what is right for the individual.

She became personally involved with her customers and did business the way it’s not often done today - rather the way it used to be. I will miss her compassion, her dedication and wonderful sense of humor.

I will miss a very dear friend who is gone too soon.”
