BRIDAL REFLECTIONS

1) What were your favorite collections?

All our designers had very strong collections this year and were not afraid to take them in new directions.  Some of our favorites were Galia Lahav, Stephen Yearick, Eve of Milady and Rosa Clara.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

We absolutely found a shift in trends.  Specifically, from sexy and fitted to soft and romantic.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

Some new trends we plan to buy are very soft, flowing, romantic styles with delicate laces and a-line skirts.  Also, long sleeves and off-shoulder sleeves.

KLEINFELD bridal

1) What were your favorite collections?

Favorite collections were Reem Acra and Isabelle Armstrong, along with the simplicity found in Dennis Basso’s sophisticated necklines and sleeves and Pnina Tornai’s lace ball gowns.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

A return to clean and sophisticated gowns.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

The new trends which we are planning on buying are elegant, simple, clean and sophisticated gowns.

1) What were your favorite collections?

Favorite collection was Marchesa Notte.  They have an incredible new stretch faille, with embellishment of course, that our sexy gals are going to love!

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

Definitely a return to a modern classic lot and impeccable fit.  There was a lot of talk about fabrics and how they accentuate a woman’s body.  The thoughtfulness that went into the gown constructions really makes our job much easier.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

We are excited about fit and flare gowns that still have great movement.  A bohemian look is just de rigueur for our brides now, but the look has grown up to be less fringe and more sparkle.  You’ll also see lots of gold accents on our gowns, in prints or bead work.

1) What were your favorite collections?

Ines di Santo, Reem Acra, Vera Wang, Romona Keveza, Lela Rose, Viktor & Rolf and newcomer Danielle Frankel.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

There was a tremendous shift towards more coverage of arms, shoulders and necks, but in very elegant, and creative ways.  Most were detachable or convertible which gives the bride so many styling options.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

I am certainly buying more ball gowns, especially with back bustling and bow details.  More modern stylish bridal separates from Elizabeth Fillmore and Danielle Frankel. And also adding more pearl embroideries to my assortment from Ines di Santo and J'Aton Couture.

MON AMIE BRIDAL SALON

1) What were your favorite collections?

My favorite, super excited, cannot wait to sell, is Mark Zunino! While it is a very moderate price it is fashion at its best. The collection has enough edgy fashion that brides will feel confident walking down the aisle. The lace romper with the over skirt is the perfect second look!

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

We saw trends continuing to favor the clean look with silk satin and high necks making a sweeping come back.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

We will be adding pieces incorporating the clean look and high neck trends.

PANACHE bridal

1) What were your favorite collections?

Two of my favorite collections were Inbal Dror and Francesca Miranda.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

Clearly there was a shift in trends this season with the addition of ballgowns: whether A-shaped  or royal style skirts from designers you would not ordinarily see with these trends in their collections.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

We have had a lot of our brides asking for fuller skirts - not necessary in tulle, but in lighter weight fabrics and that is what I was looking for this season.

THE WEDDING SHOPPE

1) What were your favorite collections?

Ines Di Santo, Francesca Miranda and Reem Acra.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

A bit more ball gowns going away from all the nude illusion….and many more jumpsuit options.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

Capes, jackets and PEARLS!

WHITE OF DUBLIN

1) What were your favorite collections?

Mark Zunino - His collection was fresh, diverse, and beautiful. So many designers repeat what they see on the runway from a season earlier. However, Mark's collection was new and feminine. He is fortunate to pull his inspiration from the many celebrities he designs for.

2) Did you find a shift in bridal market trends this season?

We were surprised to see straight necklines on strapless gowns. It seemed that every collection had a few dresses with this new trend. We have seen sweetheart necklines for so many decades. More recently, a deep plunge neckline with straps. This neckline seemed like a complete shift in market trends.

3) What new trends do you plan to buy for your store?

We purchased dresses with long cut bell sleeves, as well as straight necklines on strapless gowns. This may take a season or two to become mainstream. However, the lines are beautiful and unique. A look that many brides want when wearing their wedding gown.
